PEISAA Water Prince Corner Shop Intermediate Athletes of the Month for September
Grade 9 Souris intermediate girls A soccer player Aubrey Kickham is the PEISAA Water Prince Corner Shop Junior Female Athlete of the Month for September.
Aubrey had a fantastic September in soccer as well as invested her time fine tuning her skills this summer. Aubrey was a U15 Premier Girls All Star and brought that energy right back to school from the start of our season. She is the team leader and has scored 8 goals (2 of them corner kicks) in 3 games all while encouraging her teammates to have fun and enjoy learning the game. Her great attitude, leadership and work ethic has the team undefeated.
Aubrey is a fantastic student putting her studies first. She is at the top of her class receiving numerous 1st place standings at our Fall Awards last week. Aubrey also took time out of her weekend to ensure our soccer field was ready to play. We were quite pleased when the ref noted on the game sheet “lines are very well done, best I have ever seen.”
Aubrey also competes in PEISAA cross country, basketball, flag football and track and field. She is an all-around fantastic example of what a student-athlete should be and brings much pride to the Spartans.

PEISAA Water Prince Corner Shop Junior Male Athlete of the Month for September is Lachlan MacKinnon, Grade – 8, Baseball.
Lachlan is truly the heart and soul of the boys baseball team at SIS. He leads by example both on and off the field. He is a selfless team player who consistently puts the success of the team ahead of himself. His positive attitude, strong work ethic, and excellent sportsmanship make him someone his teammates can look up to. Lachlan brings energy, encouragement, and a sense of pride to the team every time he steps on the field.
In his teams home opener vs Hernewood, Lachlan added another accolade to his already impressive baseball resume, by throwing a NO HITTER. Even more remarkable – all 21 outs in the game were recorded via strikeout. Lachlan finished the regular season with a whopping 47 strike outs in 18 innings pitched.

Clara Doucette, École Pierre Chiasson
Clara is a student in 11th grade with a deep love for the sport of volleyball. It’s been quite some time that she has played the sport outside of school context, but this year was different. Clara really stepped up as a leader with an initiative this season to organize a team for the school.
She relentlessly recruited enough players from our school to have a Sr Women’s volleyball team. At first, it was a struggle with only 5 people committed. Clara did not give up and with her friends were able to find enough people to for a team.
Fast forward a few weeks and here we are, with a Senior A Women’s volleyball team. Although the team hasn’t started off with the best record, the girls have enjoyed playing and attend practices and games and putting in the work to get better and encouraging the people around them.
