Congratulations to Levi Curtis from Strathcona Christian Academy on being named Alberta Milk October Athlete of the Month! Let’s take a moment to celebrate his incredible dedication, perseverance, and remarkable achievements on and off the course!

Levi’s journey began early in Junior High when he first asked his coach, “How do I get my name on the wall?” Since that day, he has shown relentless commitment to his training, always keeping his eyes on the ultimate goal of becoming a Provincial Champion. All that hard work has paid off in a massive way this season—Levi recently captured the Edmonton Metro Championship and followed it up with a spectacular Provincial Gold medal, officially making his dream a reality!

Beyond his championship performance, Levi is known for being a truly humble individual, a dedicated leader within the cross country program, and a positive role model throughout the entire school community.

As Athlete of the Month, Levi receives a certificate, a $50 gift card, and an Alberta Milk toque!

Congratulations to Naamiya Hoekstra from Taber Christian on being named October Athlete of the Month! Let’s take a moment to celebrate her exceptional athletic talent, hard work, and inspiring community leadership both on and off the court!

Naamiya is a true multi-sport star who showcased her grit at Cross Country Provincials this past month while simultaneously dominating the court for the SV Senior Girls volleyball team. Throughout October, she has been a force to be reckoned with—averaging an incredible 13.5 kills, 7 serve aces, and nearly 6 blocks per game! Her peak performance came during Seniors Night against one of the league’s top teams, where she powered her team to a clean sweep with over 15 kills, 13 serve aces, and dominant defensive prowess.

Beyond her athletic success, Naamiya is deeply committed to giving back. She regularly gives her time to coach and referee elementary tournaments, acting as a passionate advocate and mentor for youth sports—especially in empowering young female athletes and building a strong school community.
